The Sdy Prize is given annually to the student who demonstrates superior proficiency in third or fourth year Linguistics courses, either third or fourth. The Faculty of Arts presents this award annually in memory of Professor John Ewings, an esteemed art historian who taught at the University from 1952 until his passing away in 1969. The prize will be granted on recommendation by Head of Department and after consulting the annual examiners meeting to the student who has achieved highest marks across two senior level undergraduate units in Art History or Theory during one calendar year.

Established in 1984 through a bequest by Walter Noel Gillies, the Monte team has since won over 100 official matches and taken part in 44 official tournaments within the Counter-Strike global league. Based out of Sydney Australia, they are well known for working as one unit and investing tremendous time and energy into playing this game; at one point playing 24 hours straight!
