The HKSAR Science and Technology Innovation Prize Exhibition

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Prize is an annual award presented by The Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation to honor outstanding accomplishments in science, technology and innovation. This award is supported by the Hong Kong government, Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation as well as several private organisations. The prize comprises cash prize, certificate and trophy; winners will be announced during an awards ceremony. This prize was established in 2016 through a gift from Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation and serves to recognize Hong Kong scientists who have made significant contributions in science and technology innovation, as well as foster a culture of scientific achievement among our young people.

In addition to offering interactive exhibits, this exhibition also introduces the work of three science prize winners: Life Science Prize Laureate 2021 Dennis Lo Yuk-ming; Physical Science Prize Laureate 2022 Luk Kam-biu and Mathematical and Computer Science Prize Laureate 2022 Mok Ngai-ming will all be present for discussion of their research projects.

Moreover, this exhibition showcases some of the many projects and activities of the HKSAR Government and its departments that contribute to Hong Kong’s international standing, while showcasing some of its iconic landmarks that are associated with Hong Kong history and heritage. The 8th Inter-school Competition of Study Projects on Hong Kong History and Culture successfully concluded today (September 25), with its prize presentation ceremony. Organized by the Hong Kong Museum of History, its goal was to increase students’ knowledge of Hong Kong’s history and culture while encouraging active learning outside class through research of historical developments compared to changes in society, motivating them to discover new dimensions for understanding and appreciating our unique local heritage.

Ten Years is a controversial film about Hong Kong that won top honours at local film awards despite only receiving limited cinematic release and prompting strong disapproval from Beijing due to its portrayal of this semi-autonomous territory. Comprised of short vignettes that tap residents’ greatest worries as Beijing tightens control on Hong Kong, Ten Years features as winner at local film awards.
