The Hongkong Prize recognizes outstanding students from different fields, providing recognition of academic achievements while inspiring them to follow their passion. Award winners receive support for creative or arts projects as well as international visibility through international visibility increases or opportunities to study abroad. Furthermore, this prize encourages them to continue researching in their chosen field of work to contribute further Hong Kong advancement within global society.
This year’s competition attracted a record number of applications from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology researchers, with most coming from HKUST researchers themselves. There was an array of projects submitted ranging from artificial intelligence, life and health sciences, new materials energy research and advanced manufacturing – the list goes on! Support was provided by both HKSAR Government through Research Grants Council of Hong Kong as well as Foundation for Innovative Research of HKUST for this prize award.
Established in 2006, the Mark Six Draw lottery game offers seven prize divisions; these range from an initial jackpot prize of HK$80 Million for matching all six main numbers to fixed prizes of HK$9600, HK$640 and HK$320 in subsequent divisions; each draw also offers a bonus number which adds extra winnings. Mr Zhang Dapeng donated $10 Million to Hong Kong Baptist University Faculty of Arts Faculty so as to establish “The Dream of Red Chamber Award: World Distinguished Novel in Chinese-Zhang Dapeng Endow Fund”, making this award’s continued operation possible.

A panel of experts will judge each entry submitted for consideration for this prize, using criteria established by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited.
